Recognising sadness but also bringing smiles
Losing a loved one is one of life’s most challenging moments. It is a hugely emotional time and you may feel like you’re on a bit of a roller coaster.
Through the ceremony, I will create a space for grief and sadness; to mourn your loved one. However it is also hugely important to me to recognise the life lived, the impact they had on all who knew them and the joy they brought. Within the ceremony I encourage everyone to reflect and to smile, and to find the joy and laughter in your memories.
Funeral and Memorial Services I Offer
Funeral / Celebration of Life
This is a chance to say goodbye while reflecting on the life, love, and memories shared with your loved one. I will work closely with you and your family to design a ceremony that honours their personality, values, and beliefs, whether religious, non-religious, or spiritual. Together, we’ll create a service that celebrates their life, supports those who grieve, and provides a opportunity to say goodbye.
Typically a ceremony would include:
– A eulogy that shares the story of their life and legacy
– Personal anecdotes, poems, or readings from friends and family
– Music that held special meaning
You may also wish to include symbolic rituals (e.g.: lighting candles, placing flowers or leaving gifts) and other elements to truly reflect your loved one and those who are grieving.
These ceremonies may take place at a crematorium, graveyard or burial site. Or they can take place at a venue of your choosing.
Memorials
A Memorial Service is a special way to remember your loved one and can be held weeks, months, or even years, after their passing. This allows friends and family to gather at a time and place that feels right.
Together, we’ll design a service that offers space for reflection, sharing memories, and finding comfort in the support of others. Memorial services can include:
– Speeches or tributes from loved ones
– Moments of silence or music for reflection
– Rituals of remembrance, such as releasing balloons, lanterns, or planting a tree
– Personal touches that honour their spirit and legacy
Scattering, or Internment, of Ashes
Scattering, or interning, a loved one’s ashes in a meaningful place can provide a sense of peace and connection to their memory. Whether you choose a location that was significant to them or a place that brings your family comfort, I can help guide you through the ceremony with sensitivity and care.
Together, we can create a moment that’s both respectful and deeply personal, such as:
– Sharing a final message or poem before the ashes are scattered
– Involving close family and friends in the scattering ritual
– Incorporating symbolic gestures, such as scattering petals or lighting candles
– Selecting a meaningful location, such as a garden, beach, or nature reserve

Celebration of Life / Memorials
Fee from £240
This is based on an up to 30 minute ceremony.
Scattering, or Internment, of Ashes
Fee from £80
Or for existing customers (where I previously conducted a funeral / celebration of life ceremony for the deceased) – fee from £40
Distance of more than 25 miles from Cheddington (LU7 0SR) may incur additional travel charge.
